Members of the Board, ladies and gentlemen,
and guests, I'll try to make this as short as
I can. I know that you have a busy schedule.
First on our Storage Units, the main contractor
on the Glen Canyon Dam is about 99 percent
finished. We are working seven days a week
around-the-clock to get the generators ready
in anticipation of testing which will start
about the 19th of August and in going into com-
mercial generation in september.

At Curecanti, the work at Blue Mesa Dam
is better than 60 percent completed. Founda-
tion excavation has been completed. A small
amount of earthfill has been placed in the dam.
The contractor is presently finishing his strip-
ping operations on the abutments, working in the
powerplant foundation, and so on. We hope that
he will finish about two-thirds to three-quar-
ters of the earthfill in that dam this construc-
tion season.

At Morrow point, the Gunnison River was
diverted on May 11th. The access road to the
top of the dam is substantially completed. The
contractor now is stripping his abutments, doing
his foundation excavation, and also working on
the excavation for the underground powerplant.

At the Florida Project the Lemon Dam is
completed. The first water was released in May
for that project and the work remaining is prin-
cipally work on a few of the laterals for this
project.

I think, if you have been following the
worJ, in the papers, that you know that we
opened bids on Rifle Gap Dam on the 23rd of
June. The apparent low bidder on the dam has
alleged an error on his bid. His material has
been collected from the contractor. He did
submit a claim and it is presently under review
in \'1ashington.

It' 5 rather unique that we would have two
of those same situations within one week's
