The balance in the
Emergency Infrastructure Account is currently within one average project of being
exhausted.

Background

In 1993 through HB 93-1273, the Legislature authorized the Board to set aside
$2.0 million of Construction Fund money in a special account reserved for emergency
repair of water resources infrastructure systems. The money in the account is
continuously appropriated to the Board for immediate availability primarily for
emergency repair of water storage systems or water distribution systems. The account is
intended to provide flexibility for the Board to make funds available in a timely manner
in situations where the time to obtain legislative approval would be a significant financial
hardship to a borrower.

Flood Control and Floodplain Management-Larry Lang, Chief.
