This project involves piping the existing open <br />ditch system with S-inch to 2 I-inch PVC pipe and installing meters at each delivery point. The project is <br />part of the NRCS Salinity Control Program. NRCS will be contributing a $267,000 grant towards design <br />and construction of the project, which will be applied 10 the CWCB loan. The final CWCB loan amount <br />is anticipated 10 be $160,700. The project design has been completed. The project was awarded to <br />Lewis Excavating, Mancos, Co and has commenced construction. The Union Ditch Company has filed application for an augmentation plan 10 <br />provide replacement water for 40 junior wells owned by the shareholders, formerly serviced by GASP. <br />This project involves the development of 3 recharge ponds, placement of flow measurement devices, and <br />headgate structures into the ponds. The ponds will be filled by gravity flow from the Union Ditch. <br />Union Ditch Company is currently constructing one recharge pond at the Miller Feedlot Site with an <br />accompany diversion structure on the Union Ditch. <br /> <br />Prolects under Deshm <br /> <br />I. Boyle Engineering, Inc. of Denver has <br />completed the fmal design plans, which has been reviewed and approved by the State Engineer's Office. <br />Bids were received to construct the planned improvements, but were outside the project budget.
