<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />The Carpenter and Mitchell Ditch Company are comprised of 5 members that own water rights. The <br />existing ditch system is 2.5 miles in length and carries approximately II cfs. This project involves <br />piping the existing open ditch system with S-inch to 21-inch PVC pipe and installing meters at each <br />delivery point. The project is part of the NRCS Salinity Control Program. NRCS will be contributing a <br />$379,500 grant towards design and construction of the project, which will be applied to the CWCB loan. <br />The final CWCB loan amount is anticipated to be $227,700. The Ditch Company has ordered the pipe <br />and is waiting on final approval by NRCS to commence construction. <br /> <br />30. North Poudre Irrigation Comtlanv - Miner's Lake Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: Serverance Tax Trust Fund <br />. Water Source: Cache La Poudre River <br />Tenns of Loan: $60S,OOO @3.25% for 20 years <br /> <br />County: Larimer <br />Project Yield: 417 AF <br />Project Type: Reservoir Rehabilitation <br /> <br />The North Poudre Irrigation Company owns and operates 22 storage reservoirs and approximately 200 <br />miles of ditches to a service area of 42,000 acres. Currently Miners Lake has been restricted to a storage <br />capacity of257 AF by the SEO's due to an aging outlet works, inadequate spillway. and seepage along <br />the toe. The existing darn is a Class 2 facility, 800' in length, and 18-ft. in height. The project involves <br />regarding the upstream dam face and adding rip rap, regarding and reinforcing the downstream face of the <br />dam, adding a filter blanket and toe drain and enlarging the spillway. Bid opening for the construction <br />was held on January 19, 2006. The project was awarded to Schmidt Earth Building, Windsor, CO for <br />$547,000. The Contractor commenced construction in February of 2006 and is approximately 50% <br />complete. <br /> <br />31. Hil!hland Ditch Comtlanv - Foothills Reservoir Rehabilitation - Phase IT <br /> <br />Authorization: Severance Tax Fund <br />Water Source: Saint Vrain Creek <br />Terms of Loan: $545,S00@2.25%for20 yrs. <br /> <br />County: Boulder <br />Project Yield: 32,550 acre-feet <br />Project Type: Reservoir Rehabilitation <br /> <br />The Highland Ditch Company was established in 1872. It currently owns and operates Foothills <br />Reservoir and a number of other reservoirs in the area, delivering 32,550 acre-feet of irrigation water to <br />its shareholders. The reservoir was rehabilitated in 200 I to deal with excessive seepage along the <br />downstream dam face. Upon filling the reservoir above gauge height 39, excessive seepage was <br />encountered. requiring the SEO to restrict the reservoir to a capacity of 4,320 acre-feet. This project <br />involves excavating a core trench into the center of the dam to cut off the seepage and to add stability. <br />The project was awarded to Zak Dirt, Longmont, Colorado. who commenced construction in November <br />of2005 and has completed the project. Final approval from the State Engineer's Office is anticipated in <br />May of2006, with project substantial completion to follow. <br /> <br />32. Abbott Ranch - Well Reolacement <br /> <br />Authorization: Severance Tax Fund <br />Water Source: Big Thompson River <br />Terms of Loan: $49,44O@2.0%for 10 years <br /> <br />COlmty: Elbert <br />Project Yield: 400 AF <br />Project Type: Well Rehabilitation <br /> <br />The Abbott Ranch is located in Elbert County, approximately 10 miles northeast of the Town of Kiowa. <br />It consists of 1727 acres, of which 150 acres are irrigated, and the remainder is in dry-land pasture. The <br />Ranch relies on two main revenue streams, cattle sales and hay sales. Currently, the Ranch produces 300 <br />tons of hay on the 150 acres, with 70% being available for sale as horse hay. For irrigation, the Ranch <br />uses one alluvial well that is 80 feet deep, in the Bijou Creek alluvium of the Kiowa-Bijou Designated <br /> <br />51 <br />
