<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The proposed project will eliminate the need for the Development to be under the Logan Well Users and <br />will provide sufficient augmentation credits to cover their depletion from the II wells. The project is <br />currently under construction and is approximately 95% complete. The Buffalo Farms Water <br />Development was approved for an additional $81,000 in loan funds at the November 2005 Board <br />Meeting. Those funds were disbursed in December of2005, with project substantial completion <br />anticipated in July of 2006. <br /> <br />23. Colorado River Water Conservation District - Enlargement of Elkhead Reservoir <br /> <br />Authorization: Construction Fund <br />Water Source: Yampa <br />Tenns of Loan: $II,OOO,OOO@ 3.75% for 20-years <br /> <br />County: Moffat and Routt <br />Project Yield: 12,000 acre-feet <br />Project Type: Reservoir Enlargement <br /> <br />The Colorado River Water Conservation District is located in Glenwood Springs and is comprised of all or <br />part of IS cOWlties that are in the northern half of the Colorado River drainage basin. The District conserves, <br />uses, safeguards, and develops water resources of the Colorado River and its tributaries to which the State is <br />entitled to under the Colorado River Compact. The River District in conjunction with the Upper Colorado <br />Recovery Program are going to enlarge Elkhead Reservoir by raising the existing dam 24-feet, for the <br />purpose of obtaining additional storage to support endangered fish species downstream and for municipal, <br />industrial, and agricullw'al use. The project was awarded to Aims Construction, Denver, CO. The <br />Contractor bas completed the outlet works and labyrinth spillway and is currently working the dam keyway <br />or foundation. <br /> <br />24. High Line Canal Comoanv - Smith Arrovo Siohon Reolacement <br /> <br />Authorization: Severance Tax Fund <br />Water Source: Arkansas River <br />Tenns of Loan: $458,540@ 2.25% for 20-years <br /> <br />COWlty: Otero <br />Project Yield: 100,000 acre-feet <br />Project Type: Siphon Replacement <br /> <br />The High Line Canal Company diverts water from Arkansas River near the Town of Boone to a 100,000 acre <br />service area. The Smith Arroyo Siphon, approximately 300-ft. in length, is a key component of the canal <br />system, which was constructed in the 1920's. The existing 6-ft. diameter, 3oo-ft long concrete encased wood <br />stove pipe bas been deteriorating for a number of years and is in need of replacement. This project involves <br />replacing the existing siphon with a 72-inch diameter reinforced concrete pipe. The project was awarded to <br />TCS, Swink, Colorado. The Contractor bas completed the project, to include; the new RCP Pipe, trash rack <br />and automated debris remover, site grading, and fencing. Project substantial completion is scheduled for July <br />of 2006. <br /> <br />25. Uoner Arkansas Water Conservancv District - N. Fork Reservoir Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: Severance Tax Fund <br />Water Source: N. Fork of S. Arkansas <br />Tenns of Loan: $3,520,000 @ 3.50% for 30 yrs. <br /> <br />COWlty: ChaffeelCuster/Fremont <br />Project Yield: 500 acre-feet <br />Project Type: Reservoir Rehabilitation <br /> <br />The UA WCD has operated the North Fork Reservoir since 1979 for domestic. mWlicipal, industrial, <br />recreational, and augmentation water supply. The reservoir is at elevation 11,400 feet and is located <br />approximately 10 miles from Maysville on the North Fork of the South Arkansas River. This project <br />involves replacement of the outlet gate, improved access, increased spillway capacity, seepage control, <br />and raising the dam IS-feet to achieve a storage capacity of 500 acre-feet. Project design has been <br />completed, with bids let out in January of 2006. The project is located on Forest Service property and <br />will require a special use pennit and an environmental assessment prior to construction. <br /> <br />49 <br />
