,

phased process was proposed at the March I, 2006, meeting of the Roundtable to winnow down the
number of streams being proposed as "eligible". The process includes:

. SJPL staff to better define how the streams listed as "eligible" meet the criteria for eligibility.
. Water users provide the SJPL staff with a response evaluation of each stream.
. Jointly attempt to determine a mutually agreeable of "eligible" streams.

.

The SJPL staff presented their criteria at the May 3, 2006, meeting of the Roundtable and the Water-users
will now prepare a response evaluation of each stream which will be discussed at the next Roundtable.
Scheduling for the next Roundtable is uncertain at this time.

In May, the SJPL Center will host a round of public meetings to get feedback on the proposed Plan
Revision alternatives. Additionally, the meeting discussions will focus on three resource topics and draft
suitability maps that were not available during last year's study group meetings. These include:
. Draft Tmvel Suitability Areas (areas where motorized use is appropriate)
. Draft Mineral Lease Areas (areas where oil and gas leasing is appropriate)
. Draft Eligibility List of Rivers and Streams (rivers and streams which are eligible for Wild and
Scenic River Designation)
Study Group Members and all interested members of the public are invited to attend the meetings.

Note: Study Group Meetings and Government-to-Government Roundtable Meetings are two different
processes in the Plan Revision effort.

All meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m. and end at 9:00 p.m. Meetings will include maps and information
for the entire planning area. with an emphasis on lands in the adjacent FS Ranger District and BLM lands,
as noted below.
. The Dialogue was
formed to explore the possibilities of better managing the water resources in the Dolores River Basin to
everyone's benefit. The Technical Team, a working group of the DRD, continues to work on gathering
and evaluating scientific information on the river and on the development of opportunities for Dolores
River to meet the goals of the Dialogue. These opportunities will be brought back to the Dolores River
Dialogue Group as a whole for its consideration as they are developed. The DRD Group as a whole met
on April20tb, 2006, at the Dolores Water Conservancy District Offices in Cortez. The notes from that
meeting are provided below.

Should you have any questions or desire additional information on the Meeting Summary or the project
itself, please contact Kenny Smith, General Manager, Dolores Water Conservancy District, 60 S.
