HINDERLIDElU Practically all these sta.tions in <br />Colorado have been installed many years and have been oper- <br />atsd by the State Engineer's office and the United States <br />Geological Survey, on theory a 50.50 basis; and that cooper- <br />ation between the State Engineer's offioe and the United States <br />Geologioal Survey for many, many years is oarried on pursuant <br />to an aot of our Legislature authorizing our office to oooper- <br />ate with the United States Geological Survey on stream-gaging <br />work. <br /> <br />I was interested to know how many more stations "ould <br />be required in Colorado I and Mr. . Gildersleeve has answered <br />that quest1on. The Legislature in the past year has not made <br />sufficient appropriations to malte reports which should be made, <br />and the United States Geological Survey can't do it alone be- <br />cause we cooperate on a 6~O basis, 1rrespective of appr~ <br />pr1at10ns. <br />MR.
