Ward Bannister of Denver. <br /> <br />The Director reported that since the last meeting, the Civil Service <br />eornrnission had approved the appointment of R. M. Gildersleeve, as Chief Engi- <br />neer of the Water Board. Mr. Gildersleeve was introduced to the Board. <br /> <br />Mr. Cross moved that the Director's suggestions be <br />approved in respect ,to the next meeting of the Board; that <br />one day be devoted to a Board tour of the (;olorado-Big <br />Thompson Project, and that the agenda of the business' <br />meeting include an overall analysis by the Board of all <br />questions and problems in development of the Colorado River. <br /> <br />The motion was seconded by Mr. Pughe, and on vote was <br />declared carried unanimously. <br /> <br />The Director announced that, unless objection were made, he would use <br />his statement made at the Denver meeting of the President I s Temporary Water <br />Resources eomrnission, as the basis for a draft of comments to be approved by <br />the Ibard, as the official comments of the State to that Commission. <br /> <br />Mr. Beaty moved that the Director be authorized to <br />prepare a resolution of appreciation of the services of the <br />two members of the Board who have just completed their terms <br />of appointment on the Board. <br /> <br />The motion was seconded by Mr. Pughe, and on vote was <br />declared carried 'unanimously. The Vice Chairman instructed <br />the Director to prepare the resolution as outlined in the motion. <br /> <br />The resolutiCXJs of appreciation, as prepared by the Director, are as <br />follows : <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Silmon Smith of Grand Junction, .Colorado served as a <br />member of the Colorado Water Conservation Ibard from August 16, 1939 <br />to June.15, 1950, when his successor qualified as a member of the <br />Board from Western Colorado; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Smith possesses a knowledge of Colorado's water <br />resources and problems incident to their protection, development <br />and utilization, which was of outstanding assistance in carrying <br />out the functions of the Board, and his services for the State <br />were rendered in a fair and impartial manner for the best interests <br />of Colorado; <br /> <br />N(J{, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Conserva- <br />tion Board on thEis 15th day of June 1950, that appreciation and <br />commendation for Silmon Smith's contribution, through his services <br />on the Board, to the protection, development and utilization of the <br />State's water resources and the adjustment of many problems in <br />connection therewith, be hereby expressed and made a part of the <br />records of the Board. . <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />d-.,.. .' <br />
