<br />Design and Construction Status Report <br /> <br />The CWCB Water Supply Planning and Finance Section has completed 9 projects in FY 01-02. Currently we <br />have 12 projects wlder construction and 17 projects in the design phase, <br /> <br />The attached spreadsheet summarizes proj ect status including budget, construction schedule, and progress to <br />date, During this current reporting period no projects were completed, <br /> <br />The attached progress report briefly outlines all active project design and construction information and progress <br />to date, <br /> <br />Projects under Construction <br /> <br />1. Idaho Springs, Town of Idaho - Idaho Springs Reservoir Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: HB 98-1189 <br />Water Source: Chicago Creek <br />Terms of Loan: $1,165,000@ 4,75% for 10 yrs, <br /> <br />County: Larimer - S, ofIdaho Springs <br />Project Yield: 230 acre-feet <br />Project Type: Reservoir Rehabilitation <br /> <br />In 1998 the State Engineer's Office restricted the storage height of the reservoir to be 9-ft, below the <br />crest of the dam, reducing the storage capacity from 230 acre-ft, to 120 acre-ft, The storage restriction was due <br />to excessive seepage and the poor condition of the spillway, Harrison Westem Construction, and design/build <br />group out of Denver, Colorado, was retained by the Town to design and construct the necessary improvements <br />to restore the dam to its original storage capacity of 230 acre-feet, The proposed improvements include, <br />constructing a compacted earthfill liner on the upstream slope of the reservoir and floor, construct new toe <br />drains, raise the embankment dam crest by 2,5-ft" place rip rap and liner protection material above the earthfill <br />liner, spillway repairs, and fill the old borrow pit within the reservoir, Harrison Westem Construction has <br />commenced construction in rehabilitating the dam face and will continue working as weather permits, Project <br />is anticipated to be completed in the Fall of 2002, <br /> <br />2, Tunnel Water Companv - Laramie/Poudre Tunnel Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: Emergency Loan <br />Water Source: Laramie River <br />Terms of Loan: $3,680,000@4,75% for 30-years <br /> <br />County: Larimer - W, ofFt, Collins <br />Project Yield: 15,085 ac, ft, <br />Project Type: Tunnel Rehabilitation <br /> <br />The existing Laramie/Poudre Tunnel is approximately 2 miles in length, diverting water directly from <br />the Laramie River and discharging it into Poudre River at a point approximately 60 miles west of Fort <br />Collins, On May 28, 2000, a 400-ft, section of the tunnel collapsed, leaving the tunnel inoperable, The <br />proposed project involves the construction of new access roads and staging areas at both ends of the tunnel <br />and the repair of the failed tunnel area, at an estimated cost of $3,200,000, Rocky Mountain Consultants, <br />Longmont, Colorado completed the final design and has been monitoring the project during construction, <br />Robison Construction, Inc" (RCI) the Contractor, commenced construction in December of 2000, and is <br />tentatively scheduled to be complete in June of 2002, The project is currently 95% complete, <br /> <br />3, Windsor Reservoir and Canal Companv - Various Canal and Reservoir Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: SB 96-153 <br /> <br />County: Larimer- N, ofFt.
