The proposed project <br />involves the replacement of 14 major structures, 55 flumes, 10-meter gates, and 30 headgates, to be designed by Smith <br />Geotechnical, Ft. Morgan <br />Project Yield: 30,000 acre-feet <br />Project Type: Dam Rehabilitation <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Jackson Lake Reservoir is located approximately 17 miles northwest of Fort Morgan and has an estimated <br />storage capacity of 30,000 acre,feet. The dam has been in'place since 1902 and provides mainly late season irrigation <br />water to about 17,000 acres of land. The dam is not currently under any restriction by the State Engineer's Office, but <br />the SEa has indicated concern about the existing dam facing, The proposed project is to provide a renewed slope <br />protection along the upstream face of the dam. The existing concrete slabs have deteriorated over time, due to the <br />extreme wave action and general freeze,thaw, The major component of the project is new soil cement facing, <br />approximately 3-4 feet thick, running along about 70% ofthe existing dam face (8,100-feet). The new soil cement <br />will be poured directly over the existing concrete slabs and will extend several feet below the toe of the embankment. <br />W, W, Wheeler of Englewood, Colorado is designing the project, at an estimated construction cost of $3,000,000, <br />The project was awarded to ASI, of Colorado, for $2,200,000, Construction commenced in August of2001 and is <br />approximately 95% complete, The project is anticipated to be substantially complete by February 2002, <br /> <br />9, North Poudre Irrigation Company - Reservoirs No, 4. 5 and Indian Creek Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: HB 98-173 County: Weld - N, of Fort Collins <br />Water Source: Cache La Poudre Project Yield: 9,363 acre feet <br />Terms of Loan: $1,107,000 @4.04% for 20 yrs,Project Type: Reservoir Rehabilitation <br /> <br />This project involves the rehabilitation of Reservoirs 4, 5 and Indian Creek. The Irrigation Company has <br />retained the services of Smith Geotechnical, out of Fort Collins, Colorado to prepare design plans and specifications <br />for the proposed improvements. Improvements to Reservoir No, 5 were designed and completed in 1999, Reservoir 4 <br />is currently under design and is tentatively scheduled for construction in the fall of 2003, The proposed improvements <br />to Indian Creek Reservoir involve a new 500,ft. long spillway, replacement of the outlet structure, new toe drains, and <br />reshaping the downstream dam face, The proposed improvements to Reservoir No.4 include, relocation of the <br />spillway to the center of the dam, replacing the existing outlet structure and Parshall flume, new toe drains, rip rap <br />placement, and reshaping the upstream face of the dam, The design for Indian Creek Reservoir is complete and <br />construction was awarded to Zak Dirt, Longmont Colorado, The project is approximately 95% complete with <br />substantial completion tentatively scheduled for February 2002, <br /> <br />10 Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Authorization: SB-97 -008 <br />Water Source: Lost Canyon Creek <br />Terms of Loan: $200,000@3,75%for30,years <br /> <br />County: Montezuma, NE of Cortez <br />Project Yield: 4,287 ac. ft. <br />Project Type: Reservoir and Ditch Rehab, <br />
