Abriendo, Suite B <br />Denver, CO 80203 Pueblo, CO 81004 <br />(303) 866-3441 (719) 542-3368 <br /> <br />Bent County is located in the Arkansas River Basin and is affected by the Arkansas River Compact and John Martin <br />Reservoir operations. Activities of interest include the Southeastern Colorado Water Conservancy District's Future Water <br />Storage and Needs Assessment Study, a $75,000 CWCB grant to the Southeastern Colorado Water and Storage Needs <br />Assessmeot Enterprise to assess future water and storage needs within the Southeastern District ( Phase I completed in <br />December, 1998, Phase II is in progress), The county will be affected by the outcome of the Kansas vs Colorado Compact <br />litigation. <br /> <br />One project has been completed using a Construction Fund loan in the amount of $229,431, <br /> <br />Water Project Construction Loan Program - Completed Projects by CWCB through FY 1999 <br />Proiect Name Amount Loaned <br />Purgatorie River Siphon Rehabilitation $ 229,431 <br /> <br />A $36,480 agricultural grant was awarded through the Office of Water Conservation to Bent Soil Conservation District for a <br />surge technology irrigation demonstration project This prQject has been completed, <br /> <br />Instream Flow Water Rights have been appropriated that protect 5,1 miles (one stream segment), <br /> <br />This county has one Designated Floodplain Study affecting three stream reaches, The county participates in the National <br />Flood Insurance Program. The Arkansas River Multi-Objective Channel Restoration Study has been completed, and the <br />Flood Mitigation Assistance Program has provided a grant for a re-location project.
