Box 1880 <br />(303) 866-3441 Durango, CO 81302 <br />(970) 247 -1845 <br /> <br />Archuleta County is located in the San Juan Basin and is affected by the Colorado and Upper Colorado River Compacts, <br />Important ongoing activities include the operation of the Colorado River Decision Support System (CRDSS) that supports <br />river management activities. The Recovery Implementation Program for Endangered Fish Species in the. San Juan River <br />Basin, the Colorado River Basin Salinity Control Program, US, Forest Service federal reserved water rights claims that have <br />been filed in Water Division 7, and the San Juan-Chama Diversions to New Mexico all affect water supply and use in the <br />county . <br /> <br />Instream Flow Water Rights have been appropriated that total 4,3 miles and protect one stream segment <br /> <br />The county has four Designated Floodplain Studies affecting 30 stream reaches. The county participates in the National <br />Flood Insurance Program and is part of the NFIP Community Rating System, <br /> <br />This past year the Recovery Implementation Program for Endangered Fish Species in the San Juan River Basin adopted flow <br />recommendation for the San Juan River.
