Jefferson County is located in the South Platte Basin and is affected by the South Platte River Compact. The
county is covered by the Recovery Implementation Program for Endangered Species in the Platte River Basin and
affected by the Chatfield Reservoir Study and the U, S, Forest Service Federal Reserved Water Rights Claims for
Water Division I (denied), It is also affected by the Metro Water Supply Investigation, SB 74 Study and the
Chatfield Reservoir reallocation study, The Prebles Meadow Jumping Mouse endangered species issues are also a
concern.

In this county there are seven loans from the CWCB Construction Fund, which have been completed in the amount
of $1,800,359, One is under construction for $10,000,000,

A municipal grant in the amount of$4,800 has been issued through the Office of Water Conservation to the city of
Golden for a water use audit and waste water minimization study, The project has been completed, This county has
also participated in creating a water conservation plan.

Instream Flow Water Rights appropriated exclusively in this county total 84 miles and 19 stream segments, Staff is
currently working on 1998 Instream Flow Appropriations in this county,

This county has 47 Designated Floodplain Studies affecting 213 stream reaches, Dutch Creek flood control project

is currently being reviewed.
