<br />. <br /> <br />e~ <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Flood Plain Proqram: The flood plain section has been working <br />diligently toward cleaning up and organizing their multitude <br />of maps and records. They are also developing a workplan to <br />eliminate the backlog of studies to be completed. We plan to <br />place additional staffing in the section for at least six <br />months to assist them. <br /> <br />. Office Clean UP and Reorqanization: The administrative team <br />has been assisting in the clean up of office materials, <br />reorganization of the files, and office space allocation. We <br />are working with the state Engineers office to develop a pilot <br />program utilizing optical scanning of files for electronic <br />storage. If this program proves to be practical, we will be <br />able to save considerable office space. <br /> <br />. Personnel: We want to extend our congratulations to Gloria <br />Lung upon her retirement. Gloria was an exceptional employee <br />who always did quality work and was always on the job. She <br />will be missed. As a result of Gloria's retirement, we are <br />seeking an office manager who will be a secretary to the <br />Director and supervise the daily operations of the <br />administrative team. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />wilderness Water Riqhts: As many of you may be already aware, <br />the Clinton Administration is revisiting the status of <br />wilderness Water Rights. We have asked the Attorney General's <br />office to review the proposed reconsideration as to legal <br />interpretations. <br /> <br />. Washinqton. DC Trio: Jim Lochhead, Doug Robotham, and I had <br />an opportunity to travel to Washington, DC to meet with <br />officials from the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and U.S. Fish <br />and wildlife service to develop support for the RIPRAP, both <br />short and long term funding, impact of critical habitat <br />designations, and Colorado River issues. You will be updated <br />as to the trip results during this Board Meeting. <br /> <br />. Colorado River Advisorv Council Meetinq: Key issues facing <br />the Colorado River was discussed with the council and general <br />policy direction was agreed upon to proceed with the <br />development of legislation to resolve the myriad of Colorado <br />River issues. <br /> <br />DCL/sra <br />sra020.mem <br />
