advertised next spring. Closure of the dam
is scheduled for August 1972, and all
earthwork should be completed by the end
of 1973.

The outlet works structure is scheduled
to be advertised next summer. Progress will
depend upon when the Denver Water Board's
conduit No. 10 is removed. Under current
planning, the outlet works is scheduled for
completion in October 1971.

The spillway structure is scheduled to
be advertised in December 1970. Work would
begin in the spring of 1971 and be completed
in the fall of 1973.

The administrative facilities buildings
were completed last month.

The major relocations involve the
Denver Water Board and the Colorado Highway
Department. A contract has been negotiated
with the Highway Department and the reloca-
tion of Highway 75 is well under way. A
four-lane bridge over the South Platte and
three other culverts are nearing completion.
Highway paving between these structures will
begin next spring with completion scheduled
for November 1969. Meanwhile, negotiations
with the Denver Water Board are continuing.

The relocation of utilities has begun
and will be a continuing work item until the
end of 1971.

We are aware of the great demand for
water-based recreation in the Denver metro-
politan area. Consequently, we are making
every effort to develop the Chatfield
Reservoir to its maximum for recreational
purposes and other environmental aspects.
