On Public Law 566 Watershed ~~ions,
on. the pine ~iver Watershed, La Plata and
Archuleta Counties, two floodwater-retarding
dams, two sections of the canal realignment,
and two water control structures have been
completed on this 58,000 acre project at a I
cost of $207,000. A contract in the amount
of $38,000 was awarded to White Construction
Company of Pierce, Colorado on November 1 to
build seven Water control stxuctures. Thirty
percent of the cost will be provided from
Four Corners Regional Commission Economic
Development Administration funds, fifty per-
cent from Public Law 566 funds and the pine
River Canal Company will provide the balance
of the cost.

Home Supply and Louden Watersheds.
Larimer and Weld counties, invitations to
bid are being prepared to contract con-
struction of additional irrigation water
control structures on these two projects
in the near future.

The following report on the current
status of River Basin Survey and planning
activities in Colorado under the provisions
of Section 6 of Public La~ 566 is provided
fOr the Board.

Under River Basin Surveys, the Type 1 I
Comprehensive Surveys, these are the inter-
departmental coordinated surveys that 1
have described to the Board before. On
the Upper Colorado region, irrigation soil
classes have been determined in the field.
