"I think the only significant thing is
the short item concerning the C10sed Basin Project.
The Closed Basin report is still being con-
sidered by the Executive Branch of the govern-
ment, which has now had it under consideration
for some three to four years. It is not,
however, the fault of the Executive Branch
of the government. It is the fault of the
State of Colorado since we have not indi-
cated what our desires in the matter are as
yet. Once the State of Colorado takes some
action then I am sure that the Secretary of
the Interior will forward the report on to
Congress.

Following is the written report of Region 5, Bureau of
Reclamation, submitted for this meeting of the Board:

"Closed Basin Division, San Luis Valley Pro;ect, Colorado

The report of the Secretary of the Interior on the Closed Basin
Division, San Luis Valley project, Colorado, is under considera-
tion in the Executive Department of the Government. Preliminary
evaluation of restoration of channels of the Rio Grande and its
tributaries in the San Luis Valley of Colorado was made by engi-
neers of the Colorado Water Conservation Board and the Bureau of
Reclamation. This preliminary evaluation was presented to the
Colorado Water Conservation Board at its September 5 meeting in
Alamosa, Colorado. The five-stage plan for the Closed Basin Divi-
sion is being repriced to the current price base by the Chief
Engineer.
