Mr. Bailey: "How soon do you have to know what we' want
you to work on?"

Mr. Finlinson: "No definite time. We have study programs
on the Cedaredge Division. Those are just reconnaissance
type studies. We are getting ready to do some detail study
on the Dolores, and to make an impartial study on the
Gunnison river."

Mr. Crawford: "Mr. Peterson, may we have your statement
about the Paonia project?"

Mr. Peterson: "We don't want to do anything to delay the
Paonia Project. We sure don't want the Paonia Project
delayed. If it could be worked out without any delay to
the Paonia project, then it would be well to make this
investigation."

Mr. Bailey: "What does the Board wish to do?"

Mr. Dutcher: "1 see no reason why this Board should not
express its desire to the BUreau of Reclamation to make
these investigations. I don't see where that would
jeopardize our completion of projects. I understand the
Bureau is going on ahead with this project."

Mr. Crawford: "Do you have any criteria to judge projects
by?"

Mr. Finlinson: "Yes, that set forth in the reports, plus
what other circumstances might come in." '"

Mr. Pughe: "Are those all the proj ects we are going to; have
under consideration?" .

Mr. Williams: "I don't feel that in the race of the '
informat ion we could make any recommendat i6'~s. Why can:t' we
have the Director and Mr. Tipton meet with,~he Bureau before
we proceed with this?U -~

Mr. Bailey: "I think we. should do that."

Mr. Peterson: "My purpose in being here in the first place
is to convey the feelings of the local people. It is the
local people that are mighty interested in this. We must
consider the local people because they are the ones that pay
the taxes."
