MR. PETERSON:

MR. JENNINGS:

MR. PETERSON:

MR. STAPLETON:

MR. MILLER:

MR. JENNINGS:

MR. KUIPER:

MR. JENNINGS:

MR. MILLER:

MR. JENNINGS:

MR. MILLER:

seriously short. I think this year is quite
unusual in one respect; for a two-week period
which ended here last Friday our Grand Valley
Project on the main stem of the Colorado was
short water for approximately a two-week period
there. At one time it was to the extent of 700 I
acre-feet short of meeting their early decreed
right on that river. So I think we can forecast
a rather severe water year."

"Hhen you speak of an area that is in a
favorable position on water supply this year,
you mean about 40% to 50%, don't you?"

"I said the most favorable."

"I'm trying to irrigate over there and I
know that we are very short on water. We're
down abou t 40% already."

"Any other comments on Mr. Jennings' report?"

"I'd like to ask Bob a couple of questions
here. Have I got these figures right? Grand
Mesa Water Conservancy District put up $1,000;
the State of Colorado put up $5,000; and as a
result of these contributions the Bureau of
Reclamation put up about $lOO,OOO?"

"NO, . you are a little twisted there; I think
twisted between the Yellow Jacket and the Grand
Mesa. As I recall the figures on Grand Mesa,
the l'1ater Board put up $15,000 and the Grand Mesa
District put up $1,000."

"For this fiscal year."

"Yes, for this fiscal year."

I

"There were no funds though from the Bureau
for this' fiscal year?"

"That is right."

"And as a result of the expenditure of this
$16,000 you now have in the budget how much for
next year?"
