Simpson, P.E. <br />State Engineer <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />TO: Peter Evans, Director CWCB <br /> <br />FROM: Hal Simpson, DWR <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Construction Fund Request <br /> <br />The Colorado Division of Water Resources requests $235,000 from the CWCB Construction Fund for <br />FY01. The funds will be used as follows: <br /> <br />1, <br /> <br />$195,000 for 30 Data Collection Platforms and associated Satellite Telemetry Equipment to <br />replace existing, out-dated telemetry equipment. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />$40,000 for refurbishing existing stream gauges as needed to maintain operational reliability of <br />stream flow data. <br /> <br />The CWCB provided $120,000 for FYOO for telemetry, replacement and strearn.gaugerefurbishment, <br />of which $85,000 is being spent to replace 15 sets of satellite-linked monitoring equipment in the <br />South Platte and Arkansas River basins. The barance of $35,000 is being used to repair and <br />refurbish stream gauges throughout the state. Refurbishment of the following stream gauges are <br />planned with these funds: <br /> <br />. North Crestone Creek near Crestone, CO <br />. Camero Creek near La Garita, CO <br />. Trinchera Creek above Turner's Ranch near Ft. Garland, CO <br />. Bear Creek at Sheridan, CO <br />. Arkansas River at Nepesta, CO <br />. Arkansas River at Canon City, CO <br /> <br />. <br />
