Evans <br />Acting Director, eweB <br /> <br />TO: Colorado Water Conservation Board Members <br /> <br />FROM: Bill Stanton and John Van Sciver <br /> <br />DATE: July 6, 1998 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Agenda Item 18a, July 13-14, 1998, Board Meeting - <br />Greeley and Loveland Irrigation Company - Horseshoe #2 Reservoir Outlet <br />Rehabilitation <br /> <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> <br />Introduction <br /> <br />The Greeley and Loveland Irrigation Company has submitted an application dated June 12, 1998 <br />requesting the CWCB to approve a Small Project Construction Fund Loan in amount of $75,000, <br />and to approve of a $5,000 grant from the Severance Tax Operational Account to complete the <br />feasibility study for the project. The loan will be used to rehabilitate the main outlet at <br />Horseshoe #2 Reservoir. <br /> <br />The CWCB has the authority to approve Small Project Loans up to $100,000 in accordance with <br />Section 37-60-122.7, CRS. Funds for small grants for local water planning from the Severance <br />Tax Trust Fund Operational Account in FYI999 were approved in the "Long Bill." <br /> <br />Attachments to this memo include a Project Summary, a description of the Greeley & Loveland <br />Irrigation Company, a map of existing facilities, a Plan of Study, and a letter requesting a <br />grant to complete the feasibility study. Additional information, and the draft feasibility study, <br />are expected to be available at the July 13th - 14th, 1998 Board meeting. . <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />The Greeley and Loveland Irrigation Company (GLIC), located in Larimer County, was formed <br />in 1900 as a mutual ditch company. The company serves an area of 18,000 acres, and receives <br />water from the Big Thompson River. The total number of shares outstanding is 2,340 shares, and <br />there are 160 shareholders. The City of Greeley owns 475.16 shares that are used for municipal <br />purposes, or 20-percent of the outstanding shares of the company. Current assessments are <br /> <br />1 <br />
