I

requesting the right to. enter Ricardo. and remove fish there for the
purpese of establishing breod stock at the Rearing Judy Fish Hatchery
above Gunnisen and fer reintreduction at the Tuttle Creek near Saguache.
Now, unfertunate1y, it seems that we are semewhat at 1eggerheads here
between 'CFI and the Game and Fish. We have a number ef ether preblems
between the two parties. .There is a meeting scheduled for August 10
with Mr. Fenslowe who replaced Carl Welch whose tragic death in Celorade
Springs terminated a great career. What all will be discussed at that
August 10 meeting I'm net sure at this time, but this may be one of the
things that will be discussed. I see nething to. be gained en the part
ef a water beard ef this state by making the filing now as against a
later date, particularly in light of the position that we are willing
to. take in stipulating with yeu in regard to. diversion.

MR. KOCHMAN: Mr. Chairman, I have a questien that Mr. Adkins referred
to. on fish. Our ebjective was not to. take all the fish eut ef Ricardo.
Creek, but to. take fish of the same species and transfer them to Tutple
Creek. I mi~ht add that we didn't have that eppertunity to. take these
fish, but it s still a very great petentia1 as a seurce.

MR. KROEGER: We're about ready to take action on the balance of these
streams. We've eliminated La Garita, Groundheg, Benine, Embargo.
and La Jara Creeks, and the balance ef them are still as listed.

MR. FETCHER: Mr. Chairman, I would like to. knew if there is anyene in
the audience who. epposes any of these other streams.

MR. VALDEZ: Sir, my name is Vicente Valdez. I'm secretary fer the
La Jara Water Users Asseciatien en the La Jara Creek, and I weuld
like to. efficially request that ~he Celerade WaterConservatienBeard
postpone indefinitely any::censideratien,'for centinueus'stream flews in
the'La Jara Creek~ particularly as requested er recemmended by the Bureau
er.theDepartment of Wildlife; They have stipulated their1ewer peint of
centr91 to. this continuous stream flew at the county bridge at Capulin.

MR. KROEGER: Sir, we did eliminate these already. All the streams
and rivers within the Costilla, Saguache, Rio Grande, and Conejos
drainages have already been eliminated. We just did this a few
minutes age by beard actien.

MR. VALDEZ: When is yeur next meeting and where?

MR. SPARKS: The next meeting is September 8 at Denver.

I

,
MR. BROWNELL: We'll have a meeting down in the valley before this,
so. we'll let yeu know.

MR. VANDEMOER: I also don't like a lot of things, but I'mm make a
motien fer the rest ef these, but I weuld like to suggest that --

-51-
