Mr. Stapleton: Do members of the board have some questions? Si.

Mr. Berthelson: Darwin, part of the project is in Wyoming. What has
been the attitude of their congressional delegation and what do you
anticipate there in the future? Can you get whole-hea~ted support?

I

Mr. Dunn: Senator McGee was the sponsor of the bill. Senator Hansen
is also very much behind us. l will say this, and maybe get in
troUble with the Savery people; we have had l think more support from
Colorado and we have been more informed through Felix's office and
through Roland Fischer's office than through Wyoming. The communique
came to me; I had to get a hold of the Savery people and tell them
that we had to come down here. Now, I am not knocking Senator McGee,
we went up there to Washington at one time and we said, "You know
about the Savery-Pot Hook . . .?" "Wait a minute'~ he said, "I helped
sponsor that deal." And he did. He is the one that helped get.us
the $250,000 appropriation. That came through Senator McGee's office.

Mr. Berthelson: One other thing I would like to ask.
most illuminating statement you made was the fact that
shortage of lawyers. I didn't realize that.

Probably.the
there was a

Mr. Dunn: I am talking mostly about the Pot Hook side. I go to.Craig
for my lawyers. There are several older lawyers there that are
planning to retire and the younger ones are trying to take up and
they just can't handle the load.

Mr. Be~thelson: Assuming you can get a lawyer, what do you anticipate
in the way of timing and getting the repayment contract completed,
six months or a year?

Mr. Dunn: I am going to tell you just why - I mean how do you go to
people and tell them, here sign this contract for repayment when we
don't have a project? And when we don't even have it started and the
money is frozen? We started it and I'll tell you what, it is a little
hard to do. It is kind of like backing up the door and asking for a
handout.

Mr. Berthelson:
out any money.

If they don't get any water, they don't have to pay
Somebody has to start somewhere.

I

Mr. Dunn: Yes, we are working on it.

Mr. Berthelson: Do you anticipate any difficulties?

-67-
