which is really independent of the Central Arizona project. It will
be constructed regardless of whether the Central Arizona project is
constructed or not. For the actual construction on the Central
Arizona project, less than two million.dollars was contained in the
federal budget. At that rate, it would take about fifty years .to I
construct the Central Arizona project. They are in as bad a shape
as we are. We hope that with some unified approach, we oan.assist
them in getting funds for the Central Arizona project in return for
some help in getting funds for Colorado. Congressman John Rhodes
of Arizona is the ranking Republican member of the Subcommittee on
Public Wor~s in the House Appropriations Committee and. he has co-
operated faithfully with Colorado, as have the other members of the
Arizona delegation. There are no railroads,
scheduled air lines or bus service to area. . ." It must be a
utopia:

Mr. Younq: Well, sometimes it is, except when you need it.

I1r. Stapleton: Are there any further questions on the San Miguel proj-
ect from members of the board? Any questions from members of the
audience? Thanks very much, Mike.

Mr. Younq: Thank you, gentlemen.

I

Mr. Stapleton: Mr. Darwin Dunn will present the Savery-Pot Hook
project.

Mr. Dunn: Thank you. Mr. Chairman, members of the board, I think we
could probably use Mr. Young's speech pretty well for our area. We

-63-
