Stapleton: Any further questions from members of the board? <br />Thank you, Sam. <br /> <br />Mr. Maynes: Thank you very much, Mr. Chairman. <br /> <br />Mr. Stapleton: The next is the Closed Basin. I think Frank Eddy will <br />be reporting to that project? Is that correct? <br /> <br />Mr. Cornelius: Mr. Chairman, if I could say a few words about it. <br />I believe that they do not have a presentation ready this morning. <br /> <br />Mr. Stapleton: All right, Mr. Cornelius, a member of the board, will <br />then at least start out the presentation. <br /> <br />Mr. Cornelius: There is fragmented support of the Closed Basin proj- <br />ect in the San Luis Valley. There is a small group that has opposed <br />construction of this project. More of the supporters are concerned <br />in the past year by the advent of self-propelled sprinkler systems <br />in the San Luis Valley which tap underground aquifers. There are <br />proposed over a thousand of these installations in the next two years. <br />With this concern, the board is glad that the request for funding is <br />not being put before this board for fiscal year 1974. I don't believe <br />that I can say anything further about it this morning. <br /> <br />11r. Stapleton: Is there anyone else that would want to appear on <br />behalf of the Closed Basin at the meeting today? All right, are there <br />any questions as to Mr. Cornelius' statements from members of the <br />board? <br /> <br />Mr. Geissinqer: Did I understand that there will be a presentation <br />ready today by somebody who is putting something together here? <br /> <br /> Mr. Cornelius: No. <br />I Mr. Geissinqer: This is it, then? <br />Mr. Cornelius: Yes. <br /> <br />Mr. Stapleton: Any further questions from members of the board, <br /> <br />-20- <br />
