I

I

designation was made. This will be a continuing problem. There is
nothing static about flood hazard areas. They will change from time
to time as conditions change. For instance, the continuing upstream
development here in the metropolitan area. greater amounts of housing.
paved roads, and what have you, accelerates floodwater at a greater
rate downstream. In every case where we have requested a change, one
of them is in Colorado Springs and two in Lakewood, is because of
changed conditions. New studies have been made and these resolutions
recognize the effect of those changes. As far as we know, there is no
controversy associated with any of these six resolutions. In each case,
the local authority has requested that we take action on them.

Mr. Stapleton: Is there any objection to considering all of them at
one time? All right, they are in your folder. The first one is the
city of Durango, Animas River and tributaries, the next one is the
city of Aspen, the Roaring Fork River; the next one is the Weir Gulch;
the next one is Sanderson Gulch; the next one is Sand and West Sand
Creeks. E1 Paso County; and the last one is Wolf Creek, Granada. Colo-
rado.

I will entertain a motion that they all be approved. (See Appendices B.
C, D. E. F and G.)

Mr. Geissinger: I so move.
Mr. Vandemoer: I second it.

Is there any
opposed.

Mr. Statleton: It has been regularly moved and seconded.
discuss on'l All those in favor signify by saying "aye" -
"no." They are approved unanimously.

We are now going to agenda item number 5, final consideration of model
floodplain regulation. I notice that we have some new members of the
audience. If you intend to participate in the discussion. will you
please leave your name immediately so that we can recognize you. And
again, if you have a time limitation, just register up here with Mary
Martel at the front of the room. We will try to comply with your time
limitations.

Now just so we can get the record in order. We have had a good number
of comments from various people and entities and we will make these a
part of the file. not a part of the minutes of the meeting. The file
will reflect the correspondence that we have had so that when you read
the minutes will know that these are part of the file. A letter from
Roger H.
