<br />, <br /> <br />/010 <br />STATE OF COLORADO <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />136 Slate Capitol <br />Denver, Colorado 60203-1792 <br />Phone (303) 8GG.2471 <br /> <br />o 014 98 <br /> <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE CHAMBERS <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE ORDER <br /> <br />Roy Romer <br />Guvernof <br /> <br />ALAMOSA RIVER W ATERSIiED RESTORATION T ASK FORCE <br /> <br />WHEREAS,' the A1amosa River Watershed in Conejos County is of major importance <br />to the residents of the Alamosa River Watershed and to the State of <br />Colorado; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the community has developed a grassroots Alamosa River Watershed <br />initiative with community ~oals for the watershed that include agricultural <br />water supply for irrigatil;Jn, domestic water supply, fishing, wildlife, <br />recreation, flow and floocl management, cultural pride and subsistence, <br />riparian habitat improvement and management, and stream stabilization; <br />and <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State of Colorado and its respective agencies support the achievement <br />of the community goals fClr the watershed and is willing to help identify <br />and assist in accessing financial and technical assistance to help the <br />community achieve its goals for the A1amosa River Watershed; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the achievement of the COl1:1munity's vision and plan for the Alamosa River <br />Watershed includes addressing many issues including water quantity, <br />water quality, river restoration, flood control, restoration of native <br />vegetation and elimination of noxious weeds, acid mine drainage, and <br />completion ofthe remediation at the Summitville Mine. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, I, Roy Romer, Governor of the State of Colorado, under the <br />authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the State of Colorado, DO <br />HEREBY ORDER AND DIRECT THE FOLLOWING: <br /> <br />1. The A1amosa River Watershed Restoration Task Force is hereby established. <br /> <br />2. The Alamosa River Watershed Restoration Task Force shall consist of the <br />following representatives: <br /> <br />a. thirteen (13) representatives from the Alamosa River Watershed including <br />a representative of the Conejos Board of County Commissioners,' the <br />AlamosalLa Jara Water Conservancy District, Valle del Sol and ROAR <br />(Restore Our Alamosa River), the Alamosa River Watershed Project, the <br /> <br />. <br />
