<br />2.2 Establishment of Zoning Districts - The floodplains under <br />the jurisdiction of (local government) shall be divided into <br />the following districts: <br /> <br />2.2.1 Floodprone District. (FPD) - An area in and adjacent <br />to a stream or other water course subject to flooding <br />an approximation of the area inundated by the base <br />flood as defined in Section 1.4. <br /> <br />2.2.2 Designated Floodplain District (DFD) - That area <br />which has been designated as a floodplain by <br />offical action of the local governing body, which <br />is subject to flooding as a result of the base <br />flood, and for which water surface elevations have <br />been established by a detailed engineering study <br />that has been designated and approved by an action <br />of the Colorado Water Conservation Board as <br />required bY state statutes. A Designated <br />Floodplain District may be divided into two <br />subdistricts, the Floodway District (FWD), and <br />the Floodfringe District (FFD) as defined in <br />Section 1.4. <br /> <br />2.3 Establishment of Official Maps - The floodplains under the <br />jurisdlction of (local government), are identified in: <br />(list maps, reports, studies, and data). The said maps and <br />reports, together with all explanatory matter, water surface <br />elevations,profiles, and cross-sections, where available, <br />and all amendments thereto, shall be as much a part of these <br />regulations as if fully set forth and described herein. <br /> <br />2.3.1 District Locations and Boundaries - The location <br />and boundaries of the Floodprone Districts and the <br />Designated Floodplain Districts established <br />pursuant to this Section are hereby incorporated <br />into these regulations. <br /> <br />2.3.2 Adoption of Official Maps <br /> <br />2.3.2.1 The (local planning commission) shall review the <br />maps proposed for official adoption and present <br />to the (Board of County Commissioners, City <br />Council, Board of Trustees) its recommendations <br />for adoption, rejection, or adoption with <br />modification of the maps. <br /> <br />2.3.2.2 Maps delineating floodplains to be regulated <br />shall be officially adopted by the (Board of <br />County Commissioners, City Council, Board of <br />Trustees) only after a) public hearing b) legal <br />notification to the public and c) official <br />approval and designation of the base flood data <br />and information by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board, as provided in Sections <br /> <br />-7- <br />
