The following . <br />advertisement was placed in newspapers and on the Intemet: <br /> <br />The Colorado Alliance for Water Education a new non-profit organization, is seeking.an <br />Executive Director for a position located in Denver, Colorado. CA WE is an impartial non- <br />advocacy water education organization. Position requirements include" but are not limited to, a <br />bachelor's degree in a related field; and 5 years of related experience, including skills in <br />education, program development, ncin-profit management, board development, marketing, <br />fundraising, writing, and oral communications, The Director will be the principal development <br />and administrative CA WE officer, and will carry out an active education outreach program <br />consistent with Board direction, and the mission of protecting Colorado's water resources. <br />Annual salary is $60,000, plus fringe benefits,. Board of Directors <br /> <br />Dick MacRavey has announced his intention to hold it Water Education Convention in conjunction with <br />the Colorado State Fair in Pueblo, on Thursday, August 29. The location has not yet been determined, <br />nor has the agenda. It is our understanding that it is Mr. MacRavey's intention that the Steering <br />Committee and the Colorado Water Congress Board and membership select the Board of Directors for <br />the new Colorado Alliance for Water Education at this convention. <br /> <br />Two members of the Board will be selected directly 1;>y the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />(CWCB) and the CWC respectively. The CWC has ltlready selected Becky Brooks who has an <br />extensive background in education and legislative activity. <br /> <br />5. Other <br /> <br />The CWC Board of Directors has donated the following to the foundation: (1) $812.00 for improving <br />that section of Suite 420 that will be used for the new foundation office; and (2) $500.00 for furniture, <br />They welcome other donations. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />Now is the time for the Board to provide its recommendations regarding the Articles, <br />Bylaws, Board makeup and other issues to the qolorado Water Congress and the Steering . <br />Committee.
