This project is a Drainageway Master Planning, Preliminary Drainage Design, Floodplain Delineation Study on Bosley
Wash and Stub Ditch with the Grand Valley. The stream experienced three major flood events in the summer 1999. The
.. scope of work is prepared and the Request for Proposal (RFP) are on the street. The RFP submittals are due on October
_13,2000.

National Education Fottndation
Authorization: HB 00-1419
Water Source: N/A
Location: Statewide

Grant Amount: $100,000
Project Type: Educational
Project Manager: Dan McAuliffe

This two-year project consists of the development and distribution of the "Learning to be WaterWise" Program to
intennediate grade school students and households throughout Colorado beginning in the 2000/2001 school year. With the
funding provided by the CWCB grant and matching funds from local sources, the Program seeks to reach over 6,000
students. About $25,000 will spent putting a variety of educational material on CD's for distribution in the fall 2000. A
$50,000 contract is expected to be signed with the Learning to be WaterWise program for distribution purposes. The
remaining funds will be held pending further review and recommendation from the Colorado Water Congress Education
Sttbcommittee.

Severance Tax Trust Fund Operational Account Grants

Southeastern Colorado Water Conservancv District - Water and Storage Needs Assessment
Authorization: HB Grant Amount: $100,000
Water Source: Purgatoire River Project Type: Water Supply Study
Location: Pueblo Project Manager: Steve Miller

This project is being conducted by an enterprise created by the Southeastern Colorado Water Conservancy District
ArSECWCDj in conjunction with municipal and agricultural water ttsers with its service area. In prior years, Phases I and
wn received CWCB grants of $100,000 from the severance tax account for an analysis of future water supply and storage
needs in the lower Arkansas basin [Buena Vista to Lamar). Phases I and IT resulted in a quantification of needed storage
space and a Preferred Storage Options Plan for meeting these needs. This work is now complete, and a required, detailed
presentation to the CWCB will made within the next 6 months.

CWCB - Regional Planning MeetingslW atershed Planning
Authorization: FY 200 I Grant Amount: $40,000
Water Source: N/A Project Type: Watershed Planning
Location: Statewide Project Manager: Dan McAuliffe

The CWCB's local water basin planning efforts began in 2000. Meetings are being scheduled and local water basin
planning fact sheets were produced. Updating the information in the fact sheets and holding meetings is expected to
continue in this fiscal year. This information will be transferred to the Internet and updated annually. Additional
prodttcts, like specific basin instream flow fact sheets, will be prodttced as by-products and made available in hard copy
and on the Internet.

Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission - Rural Water Svstem/Methane Gas Fields
Authorization: FY 2001 Grant Amount: $30,000
Water Source: N/A Project Type: Water Quality Study
Location: Trinidad Project Manager: Dan McAuliffe

The CWCB is authorized by statute (Section 37-60-115, CRS) to make water resource studies and investigations,
..:ncluding groundwater studies, watershed planning studies, and river restoration projects. An opportunity exists for the
w::tttdy of a rural domestic water supply created as a by-product of methane gas extraction near Trinidad. This study could
evolve into other water/energy production rehited technologies.
