STAPLETON:
MR. BARNARD, JR.:

ming' signs on John Martin.

Thank you."

"I think Mr. Bunger asked for the floor."

"In regard to this 10,000 acre-foot pool, I
think it would be possible to construct, within
the reservoir itself, a pool to confine this
10,000 in a much smaller space than if it is
spread out over the present bottom. That would
take care of your depth. It might also take care
of some of the silting as it would not silt up
as fast as the reservoir itself would."

I

"Mr. Chairman."

"Mr. Peterson."

"From what I have heard it seems that there
is a sufficient amount of opposition from the
local people in the area and also there seems to
be a lack of a sufficient amount of information.
Therefore I would like to move that we, at this
time, move on to the next item on the agenda."

"I take that as a motion to table this sub-
ject?AII right, there is a motion to table
this matter. Is there a second to that motion?"

"I'll second the motion."

"Is there any discussion on the motion?"

"At one time I and several of the members of
this Board took violent exception to the positio~
expressed by the Bureau of Sports Fisheries and
Wildlife in connection with Curecanti Reservoir.
We felt their opposition was more emotional than
real. In discussing the matter there were those
who believed the Game and Fish Commission had no
duty to give consideration to anything except
game and fish. As far as I am concerned, the
opposition that has been expressed so far has
been far more emotional than real. If this
Board takes the position that it has no duty to
give consideration to the feelings of a large
number of people that John Martin Reservoir could
be available to for recreational purposes, we are
in the same obstructionist position that the Bur-
eau of Sports Fisheries and Wildlife was in con-
nection with that project.

I
