I

I

people here, Mr. Jordan from Craig and Mr. Cooley from Meeker, who are
interested in the appropriations for their areas. $285,000 has been
requested for various studies. A notice has recently been issued of
the initiation of a study for the Lower Yampa and the Yellow Jacket.

MR. FETCHER: Larry, that was going to by my question -- as to whether
or not the Lower Yampa or Juniper projects were included in that
$285,000. Could you elaborate on that? .

MR. SPARKS: Yes. They are included in both. The $355,000 is the
amount available this year and they stated that specifically in the
notice of announcement. $285,000 is to continue a feasibility study
which includes the Lower Yampa and the Yellow Jacket.

MR. STAPLETON: I would like to entertain a motion, Mr. Jackson, now
about the Animas-La Plata, Dallas Creek, Fruitland Mesa, San Miguel,
and Savery-Pot Hook.

MR. JACKSON: I think we already moved that.

MR. SPARKS: All the items that are on agenda item 2.

MR. STAPLETON: Anything else?

MR. SPARKS: The feasibility studies, mainly Front Range, Grand Mesa,
Uncompahgre and Upper Colorado Resources.

MR. JACKSON: I I d like to make my motion now on C through I be approved.

MR. FORD: I second it.

MR. STAPLETON: Any further discussion? All in favor signify by saying,
"Aye." Opposed? Carried.

Is,there anything else which you received on the advanced planning and
feasibility studies?

MR. SPARKS: The only ones we did not cover are the Grand Valley
Salinity and the Paradox Salinity, the Dominguez, Front Range, Grand
Mesa, Uncompahgre Improvement and the Upper Colorado Resources.

MR. STAPLETON: Other than that, I don't know anything about it. This
is the thing that I think disturbs some of the members of the board.

MR. SPARKS: These are continuing studies that have been taken up
before. This is simply a continuation.

MR. FETCHER: Mr. Chainnan, I'm going to ask Frank Cooley if he had
any questions about how that money might be divided between Yellow
Jacket and Lower Yampa.

MR. COOLEY: I have no questions, but I would be glad to speak for an

-17-
