Tipton <br /> <br />RJT:joh <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br />---------- <br /> <br />June 29, 1951 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Proposed Narrows Project, Unit of Missouri River <br />Basin Development. <br /> <br />Enclosed please find a brief statement covering the <br />salient features of a report on the proposed Narrows unit on <br />the South Platte River in Colorado. This is a part of the <br />Missouri River development. The more detailed report, in- <br />cluding tables and maps with detailed descriptive materials, <br />was recently submitted to the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />by the South Platte division, Region 7, Bureau of Reclamation. <br />Sufficient copies of the complete report are not available for <br />all interested groups. However, the Bureau has furnished to <br />this office ISO copies of the enclosed shorter statement. <br /> <br />For a period of several months the proposed Narrows <br />development has been under re-study by the Bureau of Reclamation <br />and the State. A number of conferences on the subject have been <br />held. Questions have arisen as to the location, capacity and plan <br />of operation of a storage reservoir for flood control, conserva- <br />tion and river regulation in the lower South Platte in Colorado. <br />
