COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD

Mr. Chairman, members of the Board, and gentlemen:

It is a pleasure to meet with you today to make
Region 4's first report to'this Board this calendar year on
the reclamation developments that have taken place in western
Colorado since our last appearance before you. Before report-
ing on each project in Colorado, perhaps a brief resume on the
status of construction on the Colorado River Storage project
units, in which you are all interested, would be in order.

Glen Canyon Unit

The more significant accomplishments in the last few I
months have been the holing through of the right diversion tun-
nel, completion of the Bitter Springs access road from the,
south, the award of a contract for 200 permanent residences at
the new community of Page, Arizona, and the award of a contract
for 3,000,000 barrels of cement to be used in construction of
the dam and powerplant. This cement is to be made in a new
