MOSES: '~e are favored by a considerably larger attendance at a Water Board meet- ing than is usually present. I have an idea that most of you are here in connec- tion with #5 on our agenda which is South Platte Storage. I would like to ask Dean Crawford to briefly summarize the situa- tion." Dean Crawford called attention to the various com- munications sent to the Board on the Narrows Unit. (See Appen- dix A). He spoke of the various individuals who are for chan- nel storage and those for the Narrows Unit, that he felt the several organizations and individuals wanted considerably more studies made on possible sites other than the Narrows. Vandemoer, South Platte Channel Storage Association, Sterling, Colorado, spoke on the distinction be- tween the Narrows site and other possible sites of channel storage. He said that his organization is not end6rsing the Narnowsbut they would like to have the Bureau of Reclamation make studies of the whole valley; that they want to hold the water in their valley; they don't want anything but what's coming down the Platte now and they feel that if they had channel storage that would hold this water, it would benefit I
