<br />/ <br />~l <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Bureau of Reclamation has restudied the <br />project in accordance with the request of the <br />State of Colorado. It has been assisted in this <br />work by the Staff of the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board, by my office, and by representatives of the <br />San Luis Valley Water Conservancy District as well <br />as other entities. The Bureau of Reclamation has <br />submitted a draft of a Proposed Report of Regional <br />Director dated June 1955 for informal comments by <br />the State of Colorado. I have reviewed this draft <br />of report, and this memorandum contains my comments <br />thereon. <br /> <br />My memorandum is divided into two parts. The <br />first part relates to the major features of the <br />project and the extent to which the Bureau of <br />Reclamation has complied with the request of the <br />State of Colorado in the restudy of the project. <br />The second part contains numerous detailed <br />suggestions for editorial changes in the draft <br />of the report. The first part is prepared mainly <br />for the information of the Board; the second part <br />is for transmittal to the Bureau of Reclamation <br />should you see fit to do so in order to guide it <br />in the preparation of its final draft of the report. <br /> <br />Comparison between 1953 and 1955 <br />Proposed Project <br /> <br />The following table indicates pertinent facts <br />with respect to the project as it was recommended <br />by the Bureau of Reclamation in its Supplemental <br />Report of 1953, and as it is now recommended in the <br />Bureau's June 1955 draft of report. <br /> <br />I <br />
