like to have speak on this other than yourself?

Mr. Fetcher: Unfortunately, 11r. Sherman did not make it. He did want
to say something on it, but I have done the best I can in his stead.

Mr. Stapleton: It was done very well. All right, would you like to
move the adoption of that resolution then?

Mr. Fetcher: I will so move.

11r. Kroeqer: I second it.

11r. Stapleton: It has been regularly moved and seconded that the reso-
lution in regard to the Lower Yampa reclamation project, formerly
known to us as the Juniper project, be adopted. There is Mr. Sherman
now. John, would you like to see if he wants to make a short statement
in this regard?

Mr. Fetcher: Mr. Sherman, why don't you come on up. We just discussed
the Lower Yampa project and I made a few remarks concerning its desir-
ability and the status of the feasibility. You know more about it than
I do and perhaps you would like to say a few words to the group about
it.

Mr. Sherman: Pretty tight schedule this morning, apparently.

Mr. Stapleton: Well, no, we will give you all the time you want.

Mr. Sherman: I mean in getting here. A very opportune time. The
Juniper project is being shelved for want of funds to complete the fea-
sibility study. I think it is $100,000 each year for two years. In
view of the energy shortage and so on, since we have plenty of coal,
plenty of oil shale and some water, we would like to leave that water
for this purpose. You have a resolution here, Felix has written up.
We would appreciate very much if you people would endorse that resolution
and help us to get this money to keep from shelving the project at this
time. This is the wrong time to eliminate a project which can supply
water for oil shale and coal that we have lots of. I would certainly
appreciate it if you take some action.

I have one other item that I would like to bring up a little later or
maybe now.

Mr. Stapleton: Well, tell me what the nature of it is, and we will . . .

-18-

I

I
