SPARKS:

I

~UJI

Mexico, Wyoming and Utah statutes for use by
the Committee. A special program of the Water
Law section of the Colorado Bar Association
will be held on October 12th at Colorado Springs
to discuss the work of the Committee and to
receive suggestions from members of the Bar.

Considerable time has been spent during
the last month on matters in connection with
the transmission lines from the Colorado River
Storage Project. We are going to try to take a whack at
the ground water law along with the surface
water law, so we'll have our hands full if we
get through in two years."

"I might add, Mr. Chairman, in that light,
Mr. Moses is acting as Chariman of the Water
Recodification group and Mr. Hamburg of our
staff is acting as the Secretary, so the acti-
vities are being coordinated out of our office.

As a matter of intere~on the ground water
problem, I recently learned that there are some
very ambitious plans to develop the ground
water of the South Platte Valley. These are
commercial type enterprises which will involve
a great amount of pUmping and the exportation
