fl

.

.

.

'"

Fisheries population and standing crop estimates based on adult trout in samples is illustrated in
Figure I. Standing crop estimates comparing 1999,2002,2003, and 2005 data, were completed for
each electrofishing station and can be viewed in Figure 6. Standing crop estimates in 2005 for
Station I were estimated at 871.0 Ibs. fish/acre, an increase of224 Ibs./acre from 2003 sampling.
Standing crop oftrout at Station I has increased 33 fold over pre -restoration levels. Station 2 was
not sampled in 2005 but results in 2003 indicate a 45 Ibs/acre increase over 2002 estimates. Station
2 did not have a pre-restoration sample taken. Station 3 was estimated at 283.0 Ibs. fish/acre, an
increase of 181lbs./acre from 2003 sampling. Station 3 standing crop of trout has increased 4 fold
over pre-restoration levels. Station 4 was not sampled in 2005 but realized a 4.4 fold increase in
trout standing crop from 1999 through 2003. Other station trends indicate that additional
improvements occured in 2005 at Station 4. Station 5 was 145.0 Ibs. fish/acre in 2005, an increase
of75.2Ibs./acre from 2003 sampling. Station 5 realized a 12 fold increase in trout standing crop
between 1999 and 2005.

The macro invertebrate community was monitored using the Biotic Condition Index (BCI). BCI
provides a comparison of the existing macro invertebrate community with a theoretical optimum
community derived from many decades of sampling similar streams in the Rocky Mountain West.
Use of a before and after
approach provides insight F.. 6
into the potential effect(s) of
this project on the river.
Comparison of 1999 and
2005 macro invertebrate data
can be viewed in Figure 7.
Station I had CTQa values
of 52 in 1999 and 54 in 2005
andBCI values of91 in 1999
and 93 in 2005. Station 2 had
CTQa values of 49 in 1999
and 56 in 2005 and BCI
values of 102 in 1999 and 89
in 2005. Station 3 had a
CTQa values of 50 in 1999
and 62 in 2005 and BCI
values of 100 in 1999 and 81
in 2005. Data from Station I, in both 1999 and 2003, placed the station in the excellent range for
both CTQa and BCl. Data from Station 2 placed it in the excellent category for CTQa and excellent
for BCI in 1999 and excellent for CTQa and good for BCI in 2005. Data from Station 3 placed it
in the excellent category for both CTQa and BCI in 1999 and good for both CTQa and BCI in 2005.

.
