This is a graphic presentation sho,~ing
again essentially the same thing but showing I
the continental Divide at elevation 12,500;
showing the "Jest slope high tributaries ~Jhich
will be intercepted; showing Ruedi Reservoir
on the Fryingpan as a tributary; on down to
Glenwood, through the tunnel, down the river
on past Canon City, pueblo Reservoir and,
incidentally, including Colorado springs,
which I didn't note before. Colorado Springs
is within the conservancy district area.
Then on down to the vicinity of the state
line.

This is a detailed chart sho,~ing the
western slope features of the project. At
this point (pointing on slide) we have the
meeting of the Fryingpan River and the Roaring
Fork River which comes down from Aspen. We
go up the Fryingpan River to Ruedi Dam. Ruedi
Darn is under construction at the present time.
Its principal purpose is for replacement water
for use on the west slope. The replacement
function of Ruedi Reservoir is such that it
assures the release of water d~mstream to
satisfy prior rights at such times as collec-
tions and diversions may be in progress on the
Fryingpan-Arkansas Project diverting water
from the west slope to the east slope. Ruedi
Reservoir, 100,000 acre-feet in capacity, has
an extensive multiple-use water pattern and
I'll show you that in some subsequent charts.

The collection system intercepts high
tributaries, principally of the Fryingpan
River on the north side and on the south side.
coming down into the Fryingpan. One tributary
is Hunter Creek, which is a tributary of the
Roaring Fork River. Each of these collection
systems, starting at the extremity, flows by
gravity following this line, to a common
point. Again on the north side to this common
point which is the west portal of the Divide
Tunnel and thence through the Divide Tunnel.
