<br />1/26/04 <br />c) Encourage and support implementation of this act, and those components of the act, that relate <br /> <br />to the development and implementation ofa statewide water supply initiatiye. <br /> <br />37-60-124. Office of water conservation AND DROUGHT PLANNING - creation - powers and <br />duties. (1) There is hereby created as an office under the Colorado water conservation board the <br />office of water conservation AND DROUGHT PLANNING. The office shall have such staff as are <br />necessary and appropriate to carry out the duties established for the office. <br />(2) The office of water conservation AND DROUGHT PLANNING shall promote water <br />CONSERVATION use efficiency AND DROUGHT MITIGATION PLANNING by performing, to <br />the degree feasible, duties including, but not limited to, the following: <br />(a) PARTICIPATING AS A MEMBER OR CHAIRPERSON OF ANY STATE WATER <br />AVAILABILITY TASK FORCES ESTABLISHED TO MONITOR, FORECAST, MITIGATE, OR <br />PREP ARE FOR DROUGHT; <br />(b a) Acting as a repository for water CONSERVATION \lse efficiency AND DROUGHT <br />MITIGATION PLANNING information; <br />(c) DISSEMINATING WATER CONSERVATION, DROUGHT MITIGATION <br />PLANNING AND RELATED INFORMATION TO WATER PROVIDERS AND THE GENERAL <br />PUBLIC; <br />(d b) PROVIDING Provision of technical assistance to and working with municipal, <br />INDUSTRIAL AND AGRICULTURAL and other maaR water providers and state agencies as they <br />plan for, eyaluate, and implement water CONSERVATION PLANS AND PROGRAMS, <br />DROUGHT MITIGATION PLANS OR BOTH use efficiency measmes to pro'lide necessary water <br /> <br />serv16es; <br /> <br />(e e) Coordination of the planning for and assistance in the implementation of water <br />CONSERVATION use efficiency plans by state agencies pursuant to section 37-96-103 (4); <br />(f d) Administration of financial assistance for water CONSERVATION AND DROUGHT <br />MITIGATION PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION use efficiency measures and water use <br />efficiency programs, as authorized in section 37 60 125; and <br />(e) Preparation fur re'/iev. and appro'/al by the bollfd fur transmittal to the general assembly <br />slich information and recommendations concerning water lise efficiency projects aRd pr<3posed water <br />\lse effioiency measllfes by state aRd local govcrnments, including the analysis of water lise efficiency <br />programs already in place. <br /> <br />2 <br />
