<br /> <br />I) To facilitate the implementation of the Drought PIl!llning Survey, the Flood Protection Section <br />developed eight criteria to be used in the preparation ofa Scope Of Work (SOW) for conducting <br />the survey. See the attached document which contains these criteria. <br /> <br />2) An action plan - following completion of the survey, the staff believes that input from a <br />steering conunittee will bring valuable ideas for implementation tasks and recommendations. <br />Action items will be brought to the Board in 2002. <br /> <br />Actions <br /> <br />The CWCB has contracted with Mr. Fred Sibley to prepare as a consultant the Scope of Work for <br />the Drought Planning Survey. Mr. Sibley is the immediate past Chair of the Colorado Drought <br />Task Force. Mr. Sibley has experience at the state and national level regarding drought matters. <br /> <br />Endorsement <br /> <br />The staff is seeking concurrence from the Board regarding the following vision statements: <br /> <br />I. The survey will water year FY 2000 as the base water year for supply l!lld demand purposes <br />and correlate with the findings to the 1997 water year where possible. <br /> <br />2. A goal ofa 90% survey response is anticipated. <br /> <br />3. The survey will lead to the development ofa "Model Action Plan" for use by local <br />governments and private entitles that desire to plan for drought. <br /> <br />4. The Project Cost allocation is: <br /> <br />A) Cost of the Drought Planning Survey is $250,000. <br /> <br /> <br />B) Cost to develop th.e "Model Action Plan" is $100,000. <br /> <br /> <br />Attachment <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br />
