Governor's Commission on Saving Open Spaces, Farms & Ranches."

F) Under Task 8:
insert a new 8d. "identifY out of basin water supplies that could be physically available"

G) Under Task 9:

add to 9c. ... water supplies may be inadeqU9Xe. "Assume that aaricultural acreage will remain
constant in the future unless replaced by M&T."

:H) Under Task 11: M.d these evaluation factors:

"Does the alternative support both urban and rural needs for wawr?"
"Does the alternative avoid or mitigate ag water transfers to other usesT

Jfthe answer to these evaluation factors is "no", then the altemative should be modified or
e.limi.nated.because it is <;OTltrmy to the objevtives of the SWSI which include recognition of the
value of irrigated agriculture.

It i. my goal that the strategies tha,t result f-rom the swsr (Task 12) will be based upon !he prenrised
that r shlll"ed above, and that the CWCB advocate projects that bring new Colorado ComplWt ""titled
water that is presently leaving the state to the beneficial use of its citizens.

I hope the.oommittee shares my thoughts and can filld appropriate ways to incoIporate them in1Q thcsfinal scope of work. I want us all to be satisiled with the final product.
