<br />vv.......... <br /> <br />document the situation, and report to the <br />Governor whether or not we think the <br />measures being taken to prevent pOllution <br />are adequate at the present time. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Colorado Water Congress again <br />this year will sponsor a trip to Glen Can- <br />yon with emphasis on invitations to members <br />of the Congress and to the executive branch <br />of the federal government. It will also <br />invite members of the water committees of <br />our own legislature from the Senate and <br />the House. There will only be one trip <br />this year since the accommodations are now <br />adequate to take care of about 100 people <br />at one time. The airport at Page has been <br />lengthened so we can get in aircraft with- <br />out difficulty. The dates for that trip <br />are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, October <br />16, 17 and 18. Will the Board members <br />make a note of that and see if they can <br />hold those dates open." <br /> <br />MR. BERTHBLSON I <br /> <br />"Are we invited?" <br /> <br />MR. SPARKS; <br /> <br />"Yes, the Board members are invit.ed and <br />the Board will assist the Water congress <br />in that trip. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The National Water Commission is hold- <br />ing a meeting here in Denver in September. <br />This is the commission which was created <br />as a sort of an outgrowth of the Colorado <br />River Basin Project Act last year. The <br />members of the National Water Commission <br />have been appointed by the President and <br />they are holding a series of meetings <br />around the United States to determine <br />future water needs. We will prepare testi- <br />mony to present to that commission when <br />it meets here next month. <br /> <br />We are also engaged in reviewing the <br />possibilities of saline water experiments <br />here in Colorado. While we have no great <br />
