I

I

Mr. Crawford:

Mr. Bailey:

458

"The total is about $27,000.00."

"Any other questions? All in favor of the motion
signify so by saying aye." Motion carried unani-
mously.

3. Report Relative to Investigation of
Over-draft ~ the Rio Grande ~iver

Mr. Gildersleeve: "Mr. Tipton suggested a check of the irrigated
acreage and also seepage runs on the Conejos. In
order to make a check on the irrigated acreage a
contract was made with the Ryall Engineering
Co~pany to furnish photographic prints of the
irrigated areas of the San Luis Valley. This
Company was given notice to proceed the latter
part of June but due to bad weather they were not
able to do much flying until September. They
finally were able to furnish us with enough
prints so we could do the office work on the
prints, two of our staff, Mr. Rixford and Mr.
Mutz, made a field check.

Mr. Crawford:

Mr. Bailey:

It will probably take about three weeks
before these can be made up and tabulated. The
State Engineer's office has made two seepage
runs, one on August 12 and one on September 13,
and has furnished us with the information on
these runs. They are now making another and
we will probably get the result of this the
first of the week. The tabulation of irrigated
acreage and the result of these seepage runs
will furnish the basis of the report."

"I understand the field work is completed, and
the work that remains to be done is write the
report and deduce the proper conclusions from
that report.

I should like to take this opportunity to
introduce to the Board a new employee, Mr.
Philip Mutz. Mr. Mutz has had eight years
experience with the Bureau of Reclamation,
several of which were on the San Luis Project.
He came to us from the Bureau of Reclamation
because he did not want to leave Colorado. I
am sure that we are all happy to have Mr. Mutz
as a member of .our organization."

"The Governor is coming over shortly.
him before now, but he didn't come.
have any further questions?"

We expected
Does anyone
