The project consists of diverting ditch water into four
shallow (1-2 feet) recharge basins and construction of several observation wells in order to
document the effect the project has on the area's groundwater levels. Project savings has allowed
the District to complete a more in-depth analysis of the diversions. The final project report was
submitted by the District for CWCB review in late December. Final review and acceptance of the
report is scheduled for March 1998.
