It contains many research <br />articles, news summaries and an events calendar. <br /> <br />Ground Water Commission Meeting: The Ground Water Commission will hold its quarterly <br />meeting in Denver on May 16, 2003. <br /> <br />AgriCULTURE in the Classroom: The 2003 AgriCULTURE in the classroom summer institute will <br />be held in Delta on June 16-20and in Fort Collins on JUl}e 23-27. This is a five-day course designed to <br />help educators integrate agriculture and natural resource topics into their academic curriculum. The <br />Colorado Foundation for Agriculture is seeking donations to provide scholarship to defray the $250 <br />cost of attending the institute. The conference will be held June 11-13. For more information or to register, visit <br />www.colorado.edullaw/nrlc. <br /> <br />Joint Ag Committee Presentation: On April 9 the General Assembly's Joint Agriculture Committee <br />heard presentations on the GMUG "Pathfmder" process, (which is the subject our workshop on . <br />Monday.morning), and on Colorado River issues. <br /> <br />Instream Flow Decision Support System (ISFDSS) Prototype and SOW Completed: Ross Bethel, <br />the CWCB' s consultant on the ISFDSS project, and the CWCB staff have completed the prototype <br />ISFDSS and the "Scope of Work for Development of an Instream Flow Component of the CDSS". <br />The CWCB staff has also completed its development of the instream flow and natural lake level GIS <br />layers for all of the Board's stream and lake filings wit!) appropriation dates prior to 2003. This layer <br />will be an integral component of the ISFDSS. The CWCB staff will now begin digitizing the 2003 new <br />instream flow appropriations for inclusion in the GIS hlyer and initiate the process of interviewing and <br />selecting a consultant to begin development of the ISFDSS. Copies of the fmal Scope of Work are <br />available for all Board members upon request. Please contact staff member Greg Espegren at 303-866- <br />3921 or bye-mail at greg.espearen{alstate.co.us if you would like a copy. <br /> <br />Arkansas River Basin <br /> <br />Arkansas River Compact Administration (ARCA) 4.nnual Meeting: Due to scheduling conflicts <br />the ARCA annual meeting normally held in early December was conducted by telephone conference <br />call on Dec. 10,2002, and will be continued on May 22-23 in Lamar. I, along with Colorado's other <br />two representatives, Jim Rogers and Tom Pointon, wilt be attending. <br /> <br />This will be our first opportunity to meet the new Federal Representative and Chairman of ARCA, <br />Robin Jennison of Healy, Kansas. <br /> <br />ARCA will be considering several proposed amendments to the Operating Principles for the Trinidad <br />Project, one of which will be of direct benefit to Trinidad State Park, and another which will improve <br />the efficiency of stock water deliveries in the winter. !Due to the significant progress made by the <br />Purgatoire River Water Conservancy District in meeting requests for enhanced information we expect . <br />Kansas to give these proposals fair consideration.
