<br />I <br /> <br />Work accomplished this fiscal year and <br />still in progress on the Yellow Jacket feasi- <br />bility investigations consists of plan formu- <br />lation studies, engineering surveys, land <br />classification surveys, water supply and water <br />right studies, the collection of agricultural <br />economy data, geologic investigations, and <br />cooperative planning. <br /> <br />The FY 1963 budget now under consideration <br />by Congress includes funds for starts on feasi- <br />bility investigations of the Battlement Mesa <br />and Bluestone Projects. <br /> <br />Under Advance Planning the definite plan <br />report on the silt Project, completed earlier <br />this fiscal year, was approved by the Commis- <br />sioner on March 30, 1962. The FY 1963 budget <br />being considered by Congress includes funds for <br />preparation of construction plans and specifi- <br />cations, land appraisals, preparation and <br />negotiation of a repayment contract, and other <br />work leading to award of construction contracts <br />in early FY 1964. <br /> <br />A Small Reclamation Projects loan applica- <br />tion of the Orchard City Irrigation District, <br />Delta County, was forwarded to the Commissioner <br />early in March, with Regional Office review <br />comments and recommendations. The Commissioner <br />transmitted the application, with his recom- <br />mendations, to the Secretary of the Interior <br />on April 27. The Secretary submitted the <br />application to the Bureau of the Budget on <br />May 15. After reply from that Bureau, the <br />application will be transmitted to Congress <br />for the 60-d~y waiting period required'by Small <br />Projects law. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Recreation, Fish and Wildlife. The <br />enhancement of the fish and wildlife resources <br />and facilities to provide maximum practicable <br />recreational opportunities is, from the out- <br />set, a full-fledged part of the plans for Bureau <br />of Reclamation projects. <br />
