We have indications, quite good indica-
tions, that the bill as it comes out will
contain most of these provisions as it leaves
the House. It is still in Committee and has
not come out and, of course, it remains to be
seen just what will be in the report of this
Committee.

on this bill on behalf of the Colorado Water
Congress. "

"Thank you, Kuip. Is there any discussion
on the Wilderness Bill hearings? If not, we
will now pass on to the Fruitland Mesa Project."

"The Fruitland Mesa Project, as proposed
by the Department of Interior, has received
the blessing of the Bureau of the Budget and
has been circulated for comments. Senator
Allott has introduced a bill in the Senate to
authorize the Fruitland Mesa Project. In my
opinion this was unfortunate. The procedure
generally agreed upon, with western slope in-
terests, was that the sequence for seeking
project authorizations would be first, Savery-
Pot Hook; second, Fruitland Mesa; and third,
Bostwick Park. It would appear to me that in
order to maintain a balance of development over
the western slope, that the Savery-Pot Hook is
the next logical project for which authoriza-
tion should be actively sought."

"Kuip, how about project authorizations
generally?"

"The hearings that are in process now for
authorization are in other states. I don't have
a list of them with me but they are in other
states.

I would like to just make a few remarks
here with regard to seeking project authoriza-
tions in Colorado. As Chairman of the House
