KELLY: <br /> <br />"There is a great deal of interest <br />in the Animas-La Plata Project in that <br />area. At a meeting of the Southwestern <br />Conservancy District held recently, about <br />$5,500 was raised to expedite the study <br />of the project, as explained in the reso- <br />lution read by Dean Crawford. <br /> <br />The money was offered to the Bureau <br />of Reclamation but they returned the <br />money, explaining why it could not be <br />used. Later it was presented to the <br />Water Conservation Board, and is in Dean <br />Crawford's office at this time. . <br /> <br />In view of the need of expediting <br />this experiment, the Animas-La Plata Pro- <br />ject, I would like to move that this Board <br />appropriate $20.000 from the $77,000 appro- <br />priation for this purpose." <br /> <br />I <br />
